Summary
We want everyone connected to AxiaNET to feel able to speak up about wrongdoing without fear. This policy explains how to raise a concern and the protection you have when you do. It supports the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.
What to report
- Criminal activity, fraud, bribery or corruption.
- Breaches of legal or regulatory obligations.
- Modern slavery or human trafficking.
- Risks to health and safety, or to the environment.
- Misuse of customer data or a serious security failing.
- Deliberate concealment of any of the above.
How to raise a concern
Where possible, raise it with your manager or a director. If that isn't appropriate, email helpdesk@axia.co.uk marked "Confidential — whistleblowing". Give as much detail as you can. You may raise a concern in confidence, and we will respect that wherever the law allows.
Protection
No one who raises a genuine concern in good faith will suffer dismissal, disadvantage or any other detriment — even if the concern turns out to be mistaken. Victimising a whistleblower is itself a disciplinary matter.
What happens next
We acknowledge concerns promptly, investigate proportionately, and tell you the outcome so far as we are able. If you feel a concern has not been handled properly, you can escalate to a relevant regulator (for example the ICO for data matters).
